A class that encompasses the technical aspects of boxing with core strengthening exercises and functional movements. Learn boxing skills such as correct form in throwing jabs, hooks and uppercuts, while working at an intense pace. Class is taught with a warm up, Session, cool down and core work.
What You Do in Boxing Class at UG?
Our UG boxing classes are carefully put together so you can start with little experience and build your skills until you feel confident in the ring. You’ll learn the best way to protect against your opponent, you’ll learn to deliver an effective punch and how to move your feet so you can keep on your toes.
Are Underground Gym Boxing Classes Suitable for Beginners?
At UG, we love the idea that everyone starts their fitness journey at a different place, so in short, yes… our boxing classes are suitable for beginners. Obviously boxing itself can be quite full-on but when you come to our classes, you can participate how you see fit and no-one will force you to do anything. It’s also worth bearing in mind that many people are most interested in technique and fitness, and if that’s the case then our boxercise classes might suit you too.
What do I Need to Bring to Boxing Sessions?
Bring your enthusiasm to boxing sessions, and some water so that you don’t get dehydrated. You’ll also do well with a change of clothes and a towel for afterwards, because you can expect to get a sweat on. It’s a good idea to bring wrist wraps so that you’ve got good wrist support when you’re punching bags and pads. If you’re into sparring, you might consider a gumshield for extra safety.
What to Wear to Boxing Class
Loose and comfortable clothing is great for boxing, so you may find the best thing to wear will be shorts and either a tank top or a comfortable exercise t-shirt.
